I am able to purchase a used 20 gal Flexon tank, I am assuming a vertical tank, and only have room for a horizontal tank. The tank I now have is a Well Trol vertical which is on its side. The plumbing is no problem. I would like to know if I would be able to use this vertical tank horizontally. The price is right and I am putting the new tank in my hunting shack which is a trailer.

Since bladder tanks work on pressure and not gravity I see no problem installing it on its side. Good luck, Tom

I agree with Tom. Even though the instructions say to only mount in the vertical position, they work the same in the horizontal. However, I have noticed that tanks that are supposed to be installed in the vertical, but are installed in the horizontal do tend to fail sooner, for what reason Im not sure. I have not installed them horizontally for years, after replacing 3 in 3 years, then installing it in the vertical about five years ago and it still is working just fine. Probably just a fluke, because I also have tanks mounted horizontally that I installed ten years ago and they are still working fine too. I guess what Im saying is you will most likely be fine installing it in the horizontal, I just took it upon myself to do as the manufacturers suggest's when it comes to most anything anymore.
