Tried to get into my account several times... typed in the correct id and password to no avail on both my phone and PC.

Follow the forgotten password links and it will reset your account.

You can also connect with Yahoo with your Google account if you are not looking to create a new one then may use it. I don't thing that you are not aware on using forgot password feature
