I am a week late for my period. I have been having a lot of lower back pain sometimes to the point that I have to take the elevator at work, swollen sensitive breast twinging feelings in my abdomen and vaginal area, very sleepy lately, all I want to eat is chicken and broccoli, having a hard time sleeping, drempt of getting a positive HPT , and yet when I go to my dr for a urine test it came back negative... Is it still possible I'm pregnant? I think I conceived shortly after 2/17/13 not to mention I had a lot of cramping unlike PMS cramps plus the twinging. Could I still be pregnant but need a blood test? What should I do I think I am pregnant.

Twinging? At a week late for your period you would be around 3 - 4 weeks pregnant. If you mean you're feeling movement, I hate to break it to you, but it's not a baby. You won't feel movement until much later in pregnancy. At week 3-4, it's not possible. More like week 20.

Why are you testing so early? Getting a negative urine test a week late for your period, is very common. It's recommended to wait until you're at least 2 weeks late, and even then a false negative is common.

Wait another week, test using first morning urine. If that test is also negative, wait until your next period is due, if that's missed test again or get a blood test done.

Good luck.
