I have a toilet water supply valve, (out of the wall-to toilet), that is very loud! From what I have researched it is "Water Hammering". Loud thudding sound.

What can I do to quiet it down?

Thank you in advance for any helpful answers

The valve does not make ths noise, it's the water trying to use momentum to keep flowing againist the flush valve. Sorry about the caps, my cap lock key just broke. You could install a hammer arrestor or try a new flush valve. Sioux Chief (http://www.siouxchief.com/Supply/Arresters-And-Trap-Primers/Water-Hammer-Arresters2)

Do any other taps give you water hammer or is it just the fill valve? Back to you, Tom
