I have a problem with start up. I bought a computer from a friend and it has been working fine ! It had Windows95, well I tried loading 98 on it and I guess the computer is'nt compatibale with 98. I tried to uninstalll then that beam my problems , color wouldn't work. To make a long story short I try to start up windows 95 now I can't get to anything. It says conflict I/O ports 2F8,So I have a choice of F1 or DEL to enter set up. So I chose F8. That got me to the Microsoft 95 start up menue. I chose safe mode. Then it comes up Registry problem, restore from back up and restart. So I did, then it says window cannot restore registry Disk error occurred or no valid back up copy. It want recognize my cd rom to reinstall windows 95. Besides the disk he gave me he lost the id code.

SO can some one be kind enough to help me correct this promlem? :(

Would you like a CD key? Windows 95 has been abandoned, therefore, sharing keys is not illegal. Besides, I'm not usnig it and I have 2 or 3 legal keys.

Just because Microsoft no longer supports Win95 that doesn't mean they have given up their rights to Win95..

Helping someone by giving them a key code NOT for their system is still illegal as h3ll!

You can give them the key code IF you supply the disk and everything that came with the disk (computer included).. That would meet Microsoft's EULA!

Yes, it _is_ illegal. Microsoft may no longer support Win95, but it has not released it under any license that would allow copying and redistribution of keys or discs.

Not that the lawyers would come after you, though... :D
