I need someone anyone that knows the law in the area of disabled persons rights and abuse of, dui over ANY MEDICATION, they stole my medication and then charged my friend with possession of 2 of them, they tried to charge me w a felony for a drug I've NEVER had, they scared me out of a jury trial twice. NO ONE HAS LOOKED AT MY EVIDENCE.. . NOT ONCE! PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME YOU COULD BE SAVING A LIFE AND HELPING MILLIONS IN ILLINOIS!! PLEASE PLEASE RESPOND? STACY CONAWAY

The only suggestion I can make is to engage an attorney. You might be able to find some support from the ADA if you are disabled.

Who scared you out of a jury trial? The DAs office or your public defender or both?
What is your disability? Why were you pulled over when you then got charged with DUI?
I know you say it's a long story and want to report the corruption, but I don't know who you would report to, or what good it would do.
The ACLU is another option. Neither the ADA nor ACLU will help you if all you do is rant. The disabled have no special rights when driving.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. I was originally stopped because both of my lowbeams had shorted out when I came into town unbeknownst to me as my car is pretty well lit up w fog lights mods etc and they're automatic... they come on and go off by themselves. Okay.. I needed to know that for sure. This is a very small town and have nothing but traffic honestly.they noticed my prescriptions bottles in my purse... they asked what they were... and I told them. Then I'm asked to do a sobriety check... okay. They ask me some ridiculous questions like start w the letter n R skip every 3 letters until you get to D..! And I did SEVERAL. Then they requested a search... okay. I'm tired its late.. I just want them to do whatever they got to do so I can be on my way to pick up my son from work... I was arrested for dui had my license suspended AND WAS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW TO HAVE A ALCOHOL BREATHALYZER INSTALLED ON MY CAR! Second dui was a complete set up by the probation guy doing my Presenstence investigation.. . he had cops waiting for me to drive off because I had admitted I had taken my medication that morning. I was already parked and out of the car at the grocerey syore and the cop claims I was being pulled over for a 3 inch tree my daughter had made me hanging on the rearview mirror... the nightmare gets worse there. I was mortified. They can and lie manipulate steal and get away w it! I've tried a lawyer... im disabled ON disability.. I have no money for a real lawyer.. public pretenders do NOTHING positive for you on their own! I'm just desperate for help... I have a great case. My disability is several spinal conditions.. my entire lumbar/sacral area is fused and I got MRSA and that damaged everything permanently... it ruined nerves bone muscle tissue.. everything. I do take pain meds... but I have for 10 years! I've renewed my license drivers test and all on TWICE yhe medication! I have a letter from my old dr and my new dr stating I'm not impaired by my meds and am completely capable of driving...

Starting with the original reason for stopping you, and ending with the 'complete set up' second dui, which you gloss right over, this has no coherence anywhere. You have to stay with cold facts for any lawyer, any court. It's too much of a quagmire to get anyone to help you, at least here. I do understand that in small towns especially where the cops know you, they tend to be out for you. I have a friend who won a case against the cops in Arizona, for breaking her hip. She knows how to file her own cases.

Sorry to hear about this. Why not post some names of people involved? I would advise trying to get an attorney. I would definitely not recommend Public Defender Harvey Welch. Be careful. I know that it is the news where a Jail guard abused female inmate (sexually) and also inmate found dead in a single cell at Ford County Jail.

GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU CAN GET AN ATTORNEY

Why not post some names of people involved?

That right there is some terrible advice. Posting names will set the OP up for so much more than they are already going through. Big mistake.

OP is original poster -

The OP's version of events makes very little sense.

This "advice" ("Sorry to hear about this. Why not post some names of people involved? I would advise trying to get an attorney. I would definitely not recommend Public Defender Harvey Welch. Be careful. I know that it is the news where a Jail guard abused female inmate (sexually) and also inmate found dead in a single cell at Ford County Jail. We take pride in our answers on the legal boards - many of us work in the legal profession, have good research skills, something else.

I don't understand why you think listing names would help anyone - other than the people listed who then have grounds to sue.
