Please clarify - are you askling about making up "real" 5 letter words (in english I presume) like "vowed?" Or are you asking about the number of possible combinations of 5 letters including nonsense words like "jdfvd?" If the former - I'm not very good at playing Scrabble so won't be of much help; but if the latter - there are mathematical techniques to deterimine how many 5-letter combinations are possible.
