Hello. My computer won't connect to the internet it says that a newtwork cable is unplugged although the internet works perfectly well. I tried cmd config /renew and it says the same thing. Does anyone know why my computer won't connect to the internet?

Hello,
I am having the same problem! My computer is less than a month old and my high speed was barely purchased a week ago! My pages won't load, they freeze up or load slowly/ sometimes the pages will say "done" in the bottom left-hand corner but be totatlly blank or it will be blank without even a "done" on it. I can't download any tunes. And sometimes my AIM & YAHOO won't connect either!
I have called my ISP (Cox) dozens of times over this past week (running up a huge wireless bill). Today I called again and the "technician" (who knows if they are really certified or just paid to read off the screen) said that it may be that my NetCard has gone bad or that my IE (Internet Explorer) is just malfunctioning and that I may need a newer version of IE. He gave me this Microsoft Technical Support number to call ( oh joy another hang on & wait game) 1-800-936-5700.
I have not called yet, I wanted to come online & see if I could find some help on the WWW first. I hope this helps the both of us and any one else who is as confused as we are.
Good luck! ~ Saigrah 3/24/2007

For Media State, media disconnected problems.

>(if connected wired) disable/enable Local Area Network Icon
>restart your computer
>reconnect the cable from the computer to the router
>change port or cable
>Powercycle the router
