HELP! I have a 1999 Saturn SL and live in NY. My car went for inspection about 10 days ago and couldn't do the emissions test because my on board diagnostic computer was "not ready" for 4 tests:
Catalyst
EGR
Evap System
O2 sensors
I was told to "drive it for a while" or do a drive cycle per GM suggestion and the computer will "re-set" in time.
Please note the following:
-My SES light has never come on - ever, except for start up.
-I changed the battery 9 months ago - enough time for the computer to clear out the monitors if that had reset it;
-The Jiffy Lube personnel messed with my fuses - i.e. my odometer wasn't lit when I picked the car up, I pulled over, checked the fuses, and found several to be loose, not pushed in all the way. The odometer light came back after I ensured all fuses were properly seated... therefore, I believe that the interruption to the power came during the inspection.
-I have driven the car over 350 miles so far in different ways - highway, city, stop and go
-I have followed the GM "drive cycle" recommendations 4 times so far;
Nothing is working.
Any ideas?
