Im 28 weeks pregnant with my 3rd pregnancy 2nd child... I have been sent home from the hospital twice in the past 24 hours even though I'm contracting every 5-10 minutes and am spotting red... they hook me to a monitor for a couple hours Call my doctor and send me home without answers.. What should I do?

What did the hospital say? Does your doctor have a partner you can call? I would not go home from the hospital until they take care of you.

A previous person posted this type of problems and a nurse practitioner recommended drinking plenty of water - 8 ounces every hour. She said dehydration is very common in pregnancy and can cause these problems. Even if you don't think you're thirsty, drinking more water won't hurt you.

So drink water, stay off your feet and keep calling until you get a satisfactory answer. If your doctor is this unresponsive to a pregnant woman, call a different ob practice and tell them what's going on - ask if they'll take care of you. Then fire your doctor and go to the new one. It's ridiculous for an obstetric practice not to have someone available on call 24/7.

My last baby was delivered at 35 weeks And I went through the same problems as I am now and a week later he was born I felt the same way I do now and the same doctor did this same thing... the only other hospital is 2 hours from me... I just don't see how she can send me home feeling that way and saying shell do something when my water breaks.

Call a different obstetrician and tell them about the situation you're in. They are probably a aware of this other doctor and will likely be happy to see and help you in their office. Do try the water - after I read the prior post by another pregnant woman, this nurse practitioner explained it, I researched it and found her advice to be very sound.
