What is wrong with your stove? You may have a wiring diagram hidden inside your stove left by the factory for a service person. Some are located under the back panel, others under the panel that covers the control knobs. Better local hardware stores sell appliance wire that is rated for heat exposure. You can simply remove and replace the wires using the same size (gauge) one at a time. Finding an exact replacement for the controls and temperature probe for the oven may be a little harder. Back then, there weren't a lot of complexity, and many parts were nearly universal. A lot easier to find another older working stove. Might even find one for free or cheap on Craig's List or post old stove wanted. Kind of like fixing an old rusted car, cheaper to start with something that needs less repair; but I can understand why you'd like to fix it up. Hope this helps.
