I want to write a song for my friend but every time I try to write I can't think straight.

Oh No! You're not pulling me into this again! I still didn't get paid for that song I wrote last week! I told you 12 year old kids don't have bank accounts but would you listen? Nooooo... of course not! You're too snarky to listen to me! You know that writing songs takes a long time and people get paid to do it... I volunteer here, do you? Find someone else, Miss Judy!

Did I hear your dulcet tones, Judy? We could do a good cop-bad cop song, I'll bet. Twangy? We need odinn on his banjo.

My banjo is in the shop this week. I broke it after the kid wanted that song last week and I still haven't received any money.

Do we want to know how the banjo got broken?

I love your wrinkles,
Your toothless smile,
Your wooden leg,
Your one glass eye,
Your sagging butt,
And most of all,
Your mangy mutt,

How'm I doin' so far?
Yesee, you didn't give us much to go on...

My friend is a girl. She is always there when I need her. She is an amazing friend. She can be a goof ball. She makes the best of any situation.

Now that's a hit!

I'll get my accordion out and come up with a tune to go with it. :)

Now that we've had our fun.

Sports maniac, songs, like poems, or books, are personal. Now, there are people that do write songs for a living, but they're paid to do it. We're volunteers.

No one on this site is going to spend the time and effort to write you a song. What if it became a hit and you made millions off it? Would that be fair, since it's not your song?

So, figure out what you want to write about, and then put in the effort to write it yourself. If you want a song badly enough, you'll figure out a way to do it. If you want someone to write a song for you, then hire someone. It won't be free.

Good luck.

Really though, I don't think you're going to get anyone to write a song. We are all volunteers here. We volunteer to answer questions. Writing songs is big business that people get paid to do and that's just not us.

If you're looking to write a song for a friend because she means so much to you, you should be the one doing it... from the heart. Not a bunch of strangers that don't know you or her... you do it. If a song is no good, maybe a poem would be easier. Just think about her good qualities, what you like about her, what your friendship means to you and write it all down. Looking at it may give you ideas on how to write out a poem or song.

Good luck.

EDIT- Ha! Alty and I had pretty much the same idea.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer
Things fall apart, the center cannot hold
The blood dimmed tide is loosed upon the world
The best lack all conviction
While the worst are full of passionate intensity
But then there's you, my goof ball friend
Who can weather any storm, the perfect storm
With humor - until the ends of being and ideal grace

Sorry mr yeats and ms browning

You might be straight,

You might be bi,

Maybe you walk,

Maybe you fly,

I only know

I need to say

I really like you

Either way.
