Dear Sir or Madam,
The question I would like to ask is regarding my mother arriving at JFK airport yesterday, February 27th 2013.
Everything was fine until she went to speak to the immigration officer, who started to review her passport (she has had a Russian travel passport and an American visa for three years issued by the USA embassy in Moscow. The visa type is R B1/B2 ).
The immigration officer asked her "for how long you going to stay in country?"; She sad, "As long as you allow me to stay."
Then the immigration officer asked if she has a ticket back to Russia.
She showed him the back of the ticket, which has fly back date of August 2013. Then the immigration officer said, "You are not allowed to be in the country more then one month!"
This does not make sense. She was here three times before with the same type of visa and round trip tickets for 6 months.
Then the Immigration officer said, "How could you have a ticket to go back in August if you are only allowed to stay one month?
She was frustrated, confused and did not know what to say.
Then he took her passport and left.
When he got back he placed a stamp, indicating she was allowed to be here 6 months and added "This is your last time entering usa like that!"
Does anybody knows what that means? Please advise as soon as possible.
