I live in the city and the bathroom is on the 2nd floor... My bathroom floor was busted up just last week in order for the plumber to install new pipes for the tub & sink. (Reason: I had old metal pipes in the bathroom that cracked and caused a leak through my ceiling)... They installed a new tub overflow plate and new sink drain as well... Today I was washing out a shirt in the bathroom sink and heard some gurgling coming through the tub. As I watched it for about another minute I can see water backing up. I then went to go use the toilet and it would not flush. Immediately afterwards, more water came up through the tub. I used a plunger but it barely helped. What is going on? This never happened before prior to the new pipe installation and I have been living here several years. Did my plumber not install the pipes correctly or maybe did something else wrong to cause this? Please help?

Something is clogging up the large drain line on the second floor. The plumber probably needs to lift the toilet and snake the drain line.

Call the plumber and get him out to resolve this for you!
