Hi. At this time, our TV is not on Charter or Dish. We have an antenna on the roof and get a number of channels. However, when we turn on the light in the pantry, the reception goes to pieces. The other rooms don't cause a problem. This house is four yrs old. Any idea what would be the cause or solution to this issue? Thanks. Steff.

No. Standard "round" bulb.

First... put a new bulb in and see if it changes anything.

Second... it could be wires loose or arcing inside of the switch. Unless you know what you are doing I don't recommend that you try to correct this. But if yo must look , make sure the correct breaker is turned off that controls the electricity to the switch.

Take the cover off and see if anything appears to be loose. You will only see arcing if the power is on and the switch is on as well. Again , I don't recommend this but if you are going to try it anyway...

With the breaker off , turn the switch on. Than with the switch plate off , turn the breaker on in a darkened room. If there is any electrical arcing , you may be able to see or hear it coming from within the switch itself.

It could be some loose wires or just an improperly placed wire that is too close to something metal.

If you don't know what you are doing , I really recommend having an electrician do ANYTHING that involves removing / tightening or replacing th switch.

When you use electricity there is an electrical magnetic field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_field ) created near the wiring. The field could be affecting your antenna line, try moving the line
