Okay, so the day before yesterday and yesterday (I think), I was using a pendulum and a makeshift ouija board. I KNOW THE RISKS. Through these, I was told that a demon was sent by Lucifer to watch over me because I'm Lucifer's granddaughter, and the demon has been with me since I was born. The demon's name is Abmayad, he was created in 818 AD, and my own soul is 310 years old. I've always known that something was with me, because I could sense it. I'm trying to decide if it's true or not--because so many things are off. Before this, I knew something was following me, but I've only received minimal paranormal activity. As this is apparently a demon, what is strange is 1) he told me his name. 2) he hasn't attacked me or my loved ones. 3) I've only ever felt a little uneasy, but never truly scared. 4) the demon told me he is a weakish demon. 5) he told me he's keeping other demons away. 6) he told me that he did not mind if I prayed to God if it made me feel safe.

So much of this is confusing for me, but I know a lot about the paranormal. Help! BUT NO OVERLY RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, PLEASE.

Lucifer does not have creative powers, only destructive; he is only the father of lies. The spirits you are speaking to are lying. If you don't want demons in your life, I'd recommend accepting Jesus sacrifice for you and joining God's family.

My family and I are praying for you. You're going to be okay if you choose to be!

You may think you know a lot about the paranormal... but you very obviously know little to nothing about demons. The reason for this.. if I may take a guess... is that you are relying on what Hollywood and TV are trying to teach you about them.

1) Demons do have names... they have no problem telling them to people and saying their names does not conjur them up.

2) Despite what Hollywood has shown us, the main goal of a demonic spirit is not to physically attack someone. Their SOLE goal is the deception of mankind.

3) Demons aren't to be gauged on how you feel when you are around them. Since their goal is deceit... they can appear and seem quite welcoming.

4) Demons do have varying degrees of power and authority.

5) Some demons do keep others away and even to the extend of removing others... but it is not out of protection for you. They see you as their property and can become quite jealous when others spirits try to move in on their territory.

6) Why should he care if you pray to God... your confusion and misinformation of the spirit world is obvious just through your post... imagine what a spirit that is attached to you may know. They only fear someone praying to God when that is a threat to them.

You're in a dangerous place... you're quite willing to believe in spirit that says something to you. Remember their main goal is deceit... and lying is what they are best at. I would suggest you not believe a single word any "spirit" tells you.

I could get "overly religious" with you right now. But I'll spare you that and simply give you my experience. I have spent years studying demonology and the occult. I have had several experiences with the demonic and am in no way a novice. I understand you are not looking for help but more so information. You said you're confused about what exactly is going on. I'm not trying to preach... only to clear your confusion. You have put yourself in a very vulnerbale position and will have a very rough spiritual road ahead of you if you don't learn to put this stuff behind you.

Because we get a lot of 12 year olds on this forum that seem to know everything there ever was about the spirit world because they watched Ghost Hunters.

Thanks! I'll definitely follow your advice. I didn't really believe the demon's story anyway. Is there any way I can get rid of it?

I am still curious... how old are you? In what way exactly was this spirit communicating with you? Dream... audibly... solely through the ouija?

And yes, if what you are describing really is happening to you... there is a way to get rid of it.

Solely through the pendulum and ouija, but I've stopped use of both and actually ripped up the makeshift board, which should soon be burned. I hadn't even originally meant to ask questions... I just wanted to see if it'd work. I'm 17, and I do understand now that I don't really know a lot about the paranormal. Though now that I think of it, I did have a nightmare one time... but it could or could not have been caused by a demon. Still, please help! I've always known something was following me, I know that I have had small experiences before. Again, any help is appreciated. I do not want any demons around myself or loved ones if there's something I can do to change it.

Forget about the "grand daughter" of Lucifer nonsense, but there may be something to it having been with you since birth. That does happen... for different reasons. Of course I would suggest you get rid of the ouija board and pendulum... destroying them doesn't really matter... just stop using them and remove them from the home. Now that doesn't close any right a spirit may have with you... it just stops you from using it.

You're asking for help from it and here is where I can (and will) get "overly religious". The reason for this, of course, is because religion is where your help is going to come from. True help that is. I mentioned earlier that there are some demons that keep others away... and that in itself is just a terrible cycle. For complete removal from this entire situation you are going to need to seek a relationship with God. I didn't say join a religion... or perform a religious rite... I said seek a relationship with God. There is a huge difference.

You mentioned that you wanted to pray to God for a feeling of safety... can you elaborate on that? What exactly is your view on God?

Well, when I was little, I loved God. But then when I got older, I wanted to stop believing. It was extremely hard, yet I kept insisting I was simply agnostic. Recently, though, I couldn't deny my beliefs anymore. I pray every night and fully believe God will help me.

I pray every night and fully believe God will help me.

That sounds all well and good... however, God answers prayer on His terms, not ours. He has revealed through scripture that one of the main reasons prayers can go unasnwered is because they are simply prayed wrong. Not that the words themselves are wrong, but the spirit behind the prayer can be misguided. Reasons for unasnwered prayer range from praying outside of God's will to praying for selfish reasons. God answers prayer when it is prayed according to His will.

We all make mistakes... we all have sinned. God takes the communication with spirits very seriously and it is absolutely forbidden for people to do. If you want God to be able to answer your prayers for protection, blessing, forgiveness... that area of sin MUST be dealt with. God offers blessing, protection, etc... to His children. To be a child of God you must be reconciled to God through Christ Jesus. To come to Jesus you must man up to your sin and your need for Him in your life. That is where you start.

John 3:16 "...whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life..."
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us of all unrighteouness"
John 14:6 "Jesus said, "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life. No man comes to the Father but through me"
1 John 2:1 "... if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father... Jesus Christ, the righteous one"

These are several scriptures (but by no means is it all of them) that refer to salvation through Jesus Christ. Our sin is what separates us from God the Father. The importance of Christ at the cross is that He died our death in our place. As the Son of God He shed divine blood, making the perfect sacrifice once and for all for our sin. As the first part of John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son... ". Salvation is a GIFT from God. It is not something we can earn or work towards. It is offered to all of mankind. According to Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the grave, you will be saved".

To put it very plainly, you can be in right standing with God the Father when you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It comes when you are at a point where you can say "God I've sinned and ask for your forgiveness". It comes when you can say very honestly to God "I want to live for you and have your Spirit dwelling with me"

That is all savlation is... when you accept Jesus' atonement at the cross for your sins. Without the experience of it it is hard to describe the change of heart you receive at salvation. Quite frankly it allows you to live a life you once were unable to. This doesn't mean you're perfect... just that your motives and desires are now aimed at God's will and love for you.

So... why would the demon be with me since birth?

The most common reason a spirit is with someone at birth is that the spirit has actually been in the family for several generations. They don't always manifest the same way to every family member so it doesn't necessarily stand out that something is specifically wrong. Spirits are commonly in families for several generations. So it's not always something that YOU did.

There are some hard truths when learning about the spirit world and demons being in families or with people since birth is hard to understand sometimes. I'm not saying this is the case... it's possible it hasn't been with you that long... it's just not something I can tell you with correspondence over the internet.

Could you tell me some more about all this? I've had several paranormal experiences (well, a few), but how can I tell if an apparition is a ghost or demon, and why would something touch me? I've already debunked it as not being the wind or a shadow. Please, I'd like to know the truths of the paranormal, instead of the myths.

Well one thing I'll say upfront is that I don't think anyone will be able to fully explain WHY a spirit does the things they do. Keep in mind that these are ALL intelligent and willful entities... meaning they are like you and I... they have different personalities and a will of their own. Most of what they do is simply to let us know they are there... they do things to install fear... they do things to irritate us... and I would most of all they do things to confuse us.

If something goes contrary to the Bible, especially in spiritual matters, I will go with the Bible every time. It's just been proven to me over and over again and I stake my life on what it says.
So in considering whether a spirit is a ghost or a demon... I will go with what the Bible says. First of all there is only one reference in scripture to an actual human spirit manifesting and that is when King Saul consulted the Witch of Endor. Personally I believe this is a one time event God allowed to happen to pronounce judgement on the wayward King of Israel. I do not AT ALL believe this one piece of scripture describes what modern day mediums believe they are doing in calling up spirits. I do not believe that ghosts, as human spirits, remain on earth. I believe that 99% of all spirit manifestations are demonic... and the remaining few are acually misunerstood angelic visitations. Here's what the Bible does say about the situation...

Luke 16 Jesus tells the story of a rich man and a poor man that had died. The rich man begged for relief in that the poor man who he mistreated in life could come and give him a drop of water. He also asked that he could return to life to warn his family of his torment in Hell. His wishes were denied in that there is a chasm between this life and eternity. There is a serparation also between Heaven and Hell.

2 Corinthians 5:8 also describes (for believers) that to be away from out body (in death) is to be present eternally with Christ.

The Bible never mentions people being able to return or wander the earth as spirits. In fact it implies quite the contrary. Now does the word of God say out right that human spirits don't exist on earth ourside of the body? No, but if the previous scripture weren't a strong enough hint we are (thankfully) told in 1 John 4:1 to NOT BELIEVE every spirit... but rather to put them to the test. That means, fine.. maybe a spirit will appear and say it is dead Aunt Sally... in that instance we are to apply a test to that spirit. That is that if the spirit can attest to Jesus Christ come to earth, dying for mankind and being raised from the dead.

I know of many ghostly situations that when the above test was applied they were shown to be deceptive spirits. Rarely is this biblical action ever applied to a haunting situation and therefor the truth is never separated from the myth.
