I want to move the washing machine from the inside wall of my utility room, to the outside wall (approx 6' from wall to wall)

Wall 1 has a drain tube which I am assuming is properly vented to the roof etc.

When I plumb the new drain on the other side of the room, I plan to connect it to the existing drain line (6 feet away).

My question is: Can I use the exiting vent to the roof from the original line for this new line when I splice it in, or does the vent need to be situated directly above the T for the new drain line.

Hi Drknell

I'm afraid that the vent needs to be, "situated directly above the T for the new drain line" like you suspected... UGH!

Once you take the vent off above the tee fitting you will reconnect the vent to the old vent being sure to pitch the vent toward the drain so condensation/rain water can fall to the drain via gravity, OK?
