I have a kenmore 70 series dishwasher. It starts every time like it already has water in it. However there is zero water coming in no mater what setting I put it on. Any suggestions?

Sorry it's a washing machine not a dishwasher

Take the back off the control panel and where the water level control is located you will see a diaphragm with a clear plastic hose with wires attached to the switch the diaphragm controls. See if hose is stopped up by removing it and blowing on the hose. Check across the switch with an ohm meter (unplug unit from wall outlet first) and if it reads closed, tap on switch with screwdriver and see if it comes unstuck. You can remove the hose from bottom of tub to blow on it (attach to diaphragm first). If you hear it clicking when you blow on it and the meter says that it is opening and closing then it is not stuck. If it was stuck then you need to replace it even if you get it unstuck because it will stick again.
