I had a few drinks last night with my mother for valentines day. And I used listerine and handwash throughout the day today. I didn't know they were going to have me pee in a cup or else I wouldn't have drank last night. They are using the 500 level cut off test and I let the lady doing I'm evaluation that I drank some wine with my mother the night before. She said if I was over 500 I was basically screwed?? I am really upset about this as I wasn't even told they were going to have me urinate. Nor was I told that listerine and all that other nonsense could spike my levels. I also work with solvents and reactants in an organic chemistry lab including alcohols. I feel like the worlds against me right now. Please help at the 500 ng/ml level am I likely to pass. Im so scared my case depends on this evaluation please help. Has anyone passed after having a few glasses of wine maybe like 4 to 5 glasses not sure because they were large glasses my mom bought. Has anyone passed within this short time span.

Who uses mouthwash throughout the day... really? That's not how you use it.

You don't have to be a Mensa member to know Listerine and stuff with Alcohol will register. It says it right on the package.

I don't buy this story because you are trying way too hard to explain it away.. which tells me little if any of it is truthful...

And if you try it on them... they will see it that way too.

They want to see if you drink a lot... and they are going to find out you do.

Tough... I've lost two girlfriends to drunk drivers... there isn't any sympathy to be found for drunk drivers.

Besides... they don't HAVE to warn you... that's the point of them.

Ive never had this test done before and I wash my mouth out to feel fresh a couple times a day. Hygiene I guess you could call it.

Sounds like you're done... there's not enough time passing.

And really... you knew that you were trying to have your case dropped to "impaired" but you drank anyway. Did you think they would give you some sort of warning that they were going to test you? And then to try and blame the mouthwash and hand cleaner use... they have heard it all before.

Hope for the best but expect the worst.

Hey... you made the mistake when you got in the car after drinking... they rest just sealed your fate.

If I drink I don't drive... If I have to drive... I don't drink.

Be glad there wasn't injuries or fatalities... it could be a LOT worse...

Just learn from this lesson and don't become a repeat offender like some... If you think its harsh for a first offense... its far worse for repeat offenders.

I know a guy that did a year in prison... wasn't his first conviction either.

Regardless of the outcome, the real important question is what motivates you to drink at all? Especially when facing the possibility of further sanctions?

The admittance of using mouthwash "throughout the day" is a red flag, along w/ your denial. Plus you're not sure how much you drank. This smacks of a developing issue w/ alcohol.

Seek help for your drinking issue. You state in you last post you "certainly have grown". Growth means change. Well, have the results changed? It seems like they're getting worse. So do yourself a favor & consult w/ a trained professional &/or AA. It can't hurt to found out the truth. Good Luck!
