Mine just stopped as well. I tried looking for the post you found but I am unable to, how did you use the wrench to unjam the motor.

Hi Kali.

You can unjam your disposal by turning the power to the disposal OFF. Then you take the 1/4" allen wrench that is usually close by the disposal or in a drawer somewhere and you set it into the hole at the very bottom center of the disposal unit and turn the wrench back and forth to loosen the stuck object/disposal plate. After the wrench moves freely remove the wrench and then, if needed, push the red reset bottom that is popped out of the bottom of the disposal... if not popped out, just run some water down the drain and then turn the power back on and test the disposal to see if it is working .

More questions, just let us know, OK?

Thank you very much for your help, the video was just perfect. It still isn't working so I'm not sure what else to try. I am new to home ownership and home repair, I guess its all trial and error.

Are you getting any noise from the disposal when you turn it on... like a small humming sound? If so, you would reach under the bottom of the disposal and push in the red reset button.

If not, check the breaker or fuse panel and see if you lost power to the unit.

If you think you have power going to the unit then it could be the wall switch (if present) or it could even be that the disposal is shot... UGH*!

Let me know more if you want, OK?
