The couple did not hold back taxes. Don't know if they are claiming it as childcare.
She earned $11,000 between 4 other jobs that sent W-2s . What should she do about this?

That babysitting money ($581.17) should be declare on Schedule C-EZ.

If she claims the normal expenses, like cell phone and mileage, she probably will get it below the $400 threshold for Schedule SE.

Thank you, I believe she can get there on mileage alone. She was shuttling some of the kids back and forth from school twice a day @ 16 miles each round trip. It only lasted a month. This helps a lot she was on the borderline between owing and getting a small refund.

Agreed; the mileage deduction is 55 cents per mile, so it DOES add up.
