In Oct. 2012 I entered the wrong amount for her retirement deduction on the jourbal entry I made, now I have a negative $21.00 and we paid on the wrong amount. How do I correct this error?

I'm not clear on what you mean by "retirement deduction". Does this mean you overpaid social security $21?
As long as you don't owe anyone and have met your financial obligations to all parties, I'd just leave it alone. You won't be penalized by anyone for overpaying, and asking her for $21 back will come off unbelievably cheap. Just write it off as an error. As it was your mistake, it's appropriate for you to eat this small amount.

It was on her 403b. I figured I would need to write it off, but I'm not sure how to do the entry.
