I need to submit a Motion for Discovery Letter on a Lidar (radar) Gun and its calibration, officers certification, radar documents, serial number excetera... Does anyone have a sample letter to submit to the county clerk?

They have to have that present at traffic court with them if you request it to support their case. At least in VA and MD. That's the first thing they present to the Judge. You can ask to see it then.

Your odds of beating it by catching it out is very, very slim at best.

I've beat LIDAR myself several times... but never for that reason.

But then.. I have the Technical Engineering Degree to back up my arguments... and I was three to see and recognize opportunities to defend myself. There is no easy one-size fits all answer.

Thank you, I am in California and our laws are very different than most states. I also have photos of the officer illegally parked when he used the Lidar. I have to request all of this in a Motion of Discovery. Guess I will figure it out. I will also be using the Cozine Effect as he was on an overpass when using the lidar. Wish me luck!

Well best of luck.. you have your work cut out for you, but the cosine effect usually means you were actually traveling faster than registered on the device, with the difference greater the further out of a direct line you are.
Meaning the closer to 90 degrees from the line of travel the closer to zero his gun will read... as the movement becomes more lateral in nature, which it can't read.

Most of the time.. these guys are collecting revenue... not keeping people safe. They claim there are no quotas... but if you were ever friends with a cop on traffic duty they would tell you they get disciplined if they can't find enough tickets to write to reach that Quota that doesn't legally exist every month..
