Anyone ever heard of skin whitening pills that really work?

I just started researching the skin whitening issue, and all the products you guys are talking about seem to take a long time to work, and the results seemed to be temporary.

Has anyone ever heard of any kind of skin whitening or lightening, even bleaching pills on the market? Or any kind of pills that really work? And are made specifically for skin lightening?

By the way my skin color is brown and I am Indian.

I have read a lot, but so far - nothing.
