My son was released from the er today, he had kidney stones, he can't keep no food down, everything he eats he throws up. Do I need to take him back to hospital?

Call his regular doctor and ask what they'd like you to do. It's hard to know what they'll do for an individual patient and what criteria are considered, but your son's regular doctor, knowing his history, should be able to take the lead and advise you whether he needs to wait it out (sometimes you're just miserable until the stones pass), should come into the doctor's office tomorrow, or should return to the ER. Even if they are closed, doctors normally have an answering service and can be paged to call you in an acute situation like this.

How old is son ?
Does he often have kidney stones,
Did he pass the stones at the ER or did they say it may take a day or two ?

Did they discuss the size, and that they thought there would pass, any treatment to desolve them ?
Yes this is very young and often diet and other health factors play is a role in it also.
After this is over review with your doctor proper diet that will help elimate some of the cases

Doctor said he got them cause I get them and it's hereditary, I get them probably 4 times a year. Doctor said it has nothing to do with his diet. He referred us to some kind of specialist so he can look at my sons insides. Thank you so much for your feedback, we tried calling ask-a-nurse but it was after hours and all other ask a nurse websites you had to be a member.
