Neither do we as you wrote a difficult to understand, run-on sentence.

If you have a question, try to re-write it with punctuation so that it can be better understood... this way, you are more likely to get helpful responses.

It also helps if you give more detail and a general location of where this is as laws vary.

What exactly is your question?

You were arrested for domestic violence, your husband didn't want to press charges, but your kids did, and wrote a detailed letter explaining what was going on, and now you're being charged? Is that what's going on? That's how I read your post. But I don't see a question. I see a statement.

Heard of domestic violence, and people being charged for it? Yes, I've heard of it often.

The main question is, why did the kids write a letter saying you had beaten their father. If this were a one time incident, I can't imagine any child doing this. If it were ongoing, with nothing being done about it, I can see a child being desperate enough to go this route.

Obviously there is domestic violence in the home, and the husband is too afraid to press charges, and the kids have had enough, and want it dealt with.

Is that what's going on?

Police officers are required by law to make an arrest if there is evidence of abuse.
Courts are getting very very tough on it, since when not prosecuted,it repeats often (in general)

They do not need husband to press charges or even testify.

If you did hit husband, then you are being properly arrested and prosecuted.

So did you do it, does not matter if husband was OK with it or not
