Got up yesterday morning turned hot water on to wash face found out that the water coming out of hot water faucet is cold not heat on hot water the water works well just not hot. What do you think the problem may be the water heater was ourchase on 03/21/ 2012 this is a new water heater.

Could be pilot is out not allowing gas to come on. Bit strange since it must have been out a while. Most tanks would have kept the water at least warm. Heater this new should show a diagram on the tank as to how to light pilot.
