Hi, I am 37 yrs old, no children, never been pregnant. I am not on any medications and am not currently sexually active. I have sore nipples, both of them. They are sore to the touch all the time. There are no lumps in my breasts and there is no discharge. Any suggestions? They've been hurting now for about 2 months.

When was your last female physical? Are you regular?

This could be hormonal in nature and could also possibly signify perimenopause.

It has been 2 months, you should have an exam done by your doc including lab tests to rule out hormonal imbalance.

I had a complete physical (including pap) in August 2006. I am regular, in fact just started yesterday. The pain is no different before during and after my period. I don't currently have insurance which is why I haven't gone to the dr. I keep thinking it's something everyone else has heard about but me. "Take more vitamin C, it'll go away by tomorrow!" :)

Annie, it is important that you go to the doctor about this. Believe me, I understand not having insurance, I don't either. But your body is the only body you will ever have and your health is important.

You say you have no lumps. How often, and when, do you do your monthly self-breast exams.

Please, read my story here (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/introductions/since-introductions-popular-here-mine-27109.html).

You can go to a local health department to be checked completely.
