I am unable to go out all of the time. How can I train my puppy, 10 months old, to poop on a pad?

If you are able to, I would suggest to install a doggy door so that your dog has indoor/outdoor access without the stress of you needing to get and let him/her out all the time.
If that is not an option, than I would suggest the potty patch. It's a fake grass patch. It eliminates the confusion for the dog of where he is allowed to go and not go. Its easy to clean and is designed for dogs that are living in apartments or not able to go outside. And they're big! Not a tiny square like potty pads are.
I dislike potty pads a lot. It teaches the dog that is OK to potty in the home. Puppies and dogs don't understand that its OK to potty on this paper, but not that paper. They also will forever teach your dog that peeing/pooing in the home is OK.
Here is the link to the potty patch.
