My wife has missed her period for 4 months. What could be the cause.
This is the second time this has happened, the last time she had her period again after 3 months.
She's 42 years old and she has just had her PAP Test recently,on 10/2/2012.

If pregnancy has been ruled out, menopause or perimenopause may be the cause. She should have her LH and FSH levels checked.

Early menepause comes to mind to me, my my current wife stopped having any periods at about 40.
