I had an ultra sound last week. The technition called me 4 days later
And said they couldn't detect a pregnancy in the uterus. I then had
Anouther ultra sound and blood test. I am pregnant but they can't find
The baby. I am confused I am not having ne pain. I am not having any
Bleeding. MY boobs are sore but they act like something is wrong can
They be missing the baby they were tryingt o tell me it was etopic but
They said they couldn't find where not in my tube or in my uterus. I
Usually have a 25 day cycle. I have been tracking it for a year. 25
Days from the first day of last period but could I have gotten pregnant
Later than they are saying they were sugesting me take pills to kill the
Pregnancy. I want to wait it out because I feel the best I have felt in
A long time I am enegetic everything is great. My boobs are more full
And sore. I don't believe anything is wrong but should I be worryed.to
Scanns days apart couldn't find anything I have a tilted uterus I think
The baby could be hiding and if I feel ne pain I should worry I want my
Baby. I don't want to act to quickly and lose a pregnancy that could be
Fine. My last period was 12/12/12. Could I of only gotten pregnant
Less time than theyare saying and that is why it isn't showing up on
Scans. Because they are acting like this is serious and I don't feel
Like it is if they didn't even find the baby. And didn't see it anywhere
Else are they able to miss the baby or could it be to small to detect.

How do you know you are pregnant? What test was used?
tinalalli
Jan 26, 2013, 08:50 PM
Blood and pee
Wondergirl
Jan 26, 2013, 08:52 PM
So the doctor confirmed you are pregnant?
Did they check for an ectopic pregnancy?

They had me there for hours and hours doing testing I had more than one ultra sound yesterday. I only have one ovary and fallopeon tube so there is more room for the baby to hide do you think. Or could I just not be far enough along even though last period was 12/12/12

We have a terrific OB/labor and delivery nurse on this site. I will PM her to look at this thread. She works nights, and might still be sleeping. Hang in there, okay?

You can test positive for pregnancy and have no embryo. One way this can happen is called "blighted ovum". Google the term and you can find out more about it. Basically, you have no embryo in the gestational sac, or, no pregnancy.

They do increase for the first trimester with blighted ovum. I'm not saying that's what you have, but I have had it happen to me.

I would believe that if that was found gestational sac was found but not even that

Hopefully, the techs are wrong. It is odd that they can say anything to you. Usually only a doctor can give results.

When a woman becomes pregnant, the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine wall. At about five to six weeks of pregnancy, an embryo should be present. At about this time, the gestational sac -- where the fetus develops -- is about 18 millimeters wide. With a blighted ovum, though, the pregnancy sac forms and grows, but the embryo does not develop. That's why a blighted ovum is also called an anembryonic pregnancy.

I have none of the symptoms of the blighted ovum either

Yes, and the hormone levels are increasing during this time.

Thank you I can't wait to check this to see what your guys opinion is just so I don't make a bad decision because I feel like I'm fine. But maybe I could use your information and other information I have gathered to make a decision. On my safety and see if you guys think it could just be to early or hiding or something no pain no bleeding

When you had your ultrasound was it transvaginal? Did you have a full bladder?
If you didn't have a full bladder then it is possible that the ultrasound is not correct.
This early on a full bladder is necessary to detect a gestational sac.

My first one was a full blatter but with a machine that wasn't great then I had one at the hospital they did one outside belly and said my blatter wasn't full and made me go empty my blatter all the way and did the inside my body one

Jan 27, 2013, 06:08 AM
I was already at the hospital for hours and they wasn't lettting me drink or eat or my blatter would have been full

Not far along because couldn't I have droped an egg at a diff time than I was suppose to and they are over reacting and I don't want to take pills to end my pregnancy because I don't think there is a problem

So you would be around 6 weeks, give or take two weeks. It would be too early for a heartbeat, and maybe even too early to see a sac or festal pole. Heck, most women don't even know they are pregnant this early.
The best ultrasouns results come between the 9th and 12th weeks.
If I were you I would revisit this with your doctor in another couple of weeks.

I will be 6 weeks on when is what they said according to my last period but I could be less along I think thank they think and they are just over doing it and I will start showing up onscanns later I don't know I'm just thinking if I'm not in pain or not bleeding no discharge that the pregnancy is fine because people go with out knowing they are pregnant for a while even longer than me and not seeing a doctor just the doctor are talking about pills to kill the pregnancy why I am reluctant to just say yes I want to know as much as I can know

I have a schedualed ultra sound on the 6th of feb just to look at the embryo for this parent program I'm going to avoid the doctors that have confused me and try to see anouther doctor because it didn't make sense to me. I actually am trying to get in to a specific ob because I have had a c section and have a big inscion scar about 8 inches long going down the left side of my belly and then the c section scar to try for a vaginal birth so that the baby's lungs might be better. My baby I had c section dyed from lung problems I was readingt hat studys show that c sections baby's have more lung problems

I would be reluctant to take those pills as well. Remember that this is your health and you have the right to refuse them.
My advice, as a nurse, is to wait another two to three weeks. If you haven't miscarried by the, another scan should be repeated at that time.

What was the scar on the left side of your abdomen for? What kind of surgery? The C-Section scar, is it from left to right or up and down?
I want to say that I am sorry for your loss, but I doubt that the C-Section was the cause of the death. How far along were you in that pregnancy when you had the C-Section?
Typically, in most areas, once you have a C-Section you always have a C-Section. The reason is that the doctors don't want to risk a uterine rupture at the incision site. It is less risky for you. We can't have a healthy baby if we don't have a healthy mother.

I'm sorry, I don't understand you. Please understand that I have been working delivering babies all night and I'm a little sleepy. I am in Tennessee by the way.
Would you mind clearing that up for me please?

Well i9 have one c section scar low right about myhair down there it goes left to right and I have a scar going down from and ovary and fallopeon removal and big cyst bigger than a football when I was 23 weeks pregnant with my daughter she was a natral delivery at 42 weeks and my son was born c section at 38 weeks
J_9
Jan 27, 2013, 07:41 AM
Thank you for clearing that up.
Okay, if you are pregnant, you will have to have another C-Section. Very few doctors will do a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) due to the risk of uterine rupture.
Why was the C/S done on you with your son? Were there complications with the pregnancy?

We can skip what I wrote that wasn't clear it wasn't important so your guess is I prob won't find a doc to do the vaginal birth and it might not be safe it has been 6 year seince the c sectionn and 7 years since the removal of my cyst ovary and fallopeon tube the scar is about 8 inchs maybe 9 or 10 it is long but 7 years ago I carryed to term and had a nateral delivery before the c section but after the surgery

You most likely won't find a doc that will do a vaginal delivery. If you are pregnant you will have to have another c section.
But let's not put the cart before the horse. Let's find out what is going on first.
If I were you, I would refuse the medication that would induce the miscarriage. I would wait until your next appointment in February to find out what is going on.
For now, treat yourself as if you are pregnant. Take your prenatal vitamins, you can get them over-the-counter at WalMart. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy and avoid alcohol and drugs.
