Hey! Someone please help I need advice! I had drunk sex one night... I don't remember if he used a condom or not... he says he doesn't know he was too drunk... he's an idiot... but he also said that he always uses one no matter what so hopefull he did! (I pray) 1 week later when I was due for my period, I got it! So I was happy! Then I realized it was only there for 4 days instead of my usual 5... is this normal? About 2 weeks later after my period was over... I am getting an on and off headache, gas pains, a little on the tired side,a little faint, nervous stomach, dry mouth,I also get naseau every once in a while and my head feels cloudy. I don't know if I am just making myself so nervous about this, that its causing these symptoms or what!
But I am so scared and I don't know when to take a pregnancy test! I am due for my period again on April 4 and I ended my last period on March 12th. So I will be PMSing around the 21st of March and today is the 17th. I also drank a lot this past Tuesday and I am wondering if that just messed up my stomach or whatever... or maybe I just have anixiety over this for nothing and I am making myself sick like this! If someone could give me some good detailed advice id appreciate it :) I am 19 yrs old and going to school I can't afford to be pregnant! I need to know what is going on w. me!

The first thing you need to understand is that anytime you have sex, protected or not, you run the risk of pregnancy.

Second of all, if you did get your period, chances are you are not pregnant. It sounds as though you may have had a stomach virus.

Third, when you take a pregnancy test you should take it after you are one week late for your period and then only use first morning urine.

And, last, if you are pregnant, you should not be drinking. So, until you find out for sure, you should quit the drinking. It is not only dangerous to your health, but to that of the baby if indeed you are pregnant.

Hello... I know I already wrote once but I wanted more advice so I am writing again. Here's my situation... I am getting pregnancy signs, but I already got my period 1 week after I had unprotected sex. I finished by period and then began having symptoms such as, on and off headaches, gas pains, crampy, shaky (esp at nite), sometimes naseous and dizzy, ovulation, breast soreness on occasion, weak and fatigue, soreness in back of neck and sadness. I don't know if I am just depressed or nervous or sick or what. All these signs kind of come and go though, that's why I am so worried. I mean I am in college maybe it's a virus, but its just so weird like I'm not real sick, but I don't feel myself... I am due on April 4th again for my period... do you think I can be pregnant or am I stressing over nothing? Someone please give me advice and let me know what they think about my situation and the way I am feeling.
I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative but I thinks its because I didn't wait until I missed my period so it didn't work rite. Anyway I might go to the doctor and get a blood test done. Okay, after knowing your last post, I still maintian that it sounds like a stomach flu. The flu has a lot of the symptoms you are complaining about. Also you mention that you have the pregnancy symptom of "ovulation." Ovulation is not a symptom of pregnancy, rather we women do that every month. That is when the egg is released in order to be fertalized.

While a blood test would be good, it still may be too early to tell if in fact you are pregnant.

How much will it cost with your insurance? I haven't a clue because all insurances are different, and I don't know your policy.

Will the doctor tell your parents? No, this is against the law. It is called doctor-patient privilege. Your doctor cannot disclose any information to anyone without your written consent.

Ok, I really hope you are right! From some reason I really trust you. Haha. Right now I need all the help I can get. My gas pains have gone away which is good and I will go to the doctors sometime this week maybe if these symptoms continue.

Hello again, this is my 3rd time writing... I have had this headache and cloudiness and sadness for four days. Of course I am still afraid I am pregnant. UGH this is so annoying... I am calling the doctor tomorrow to see if I am pregnant hopefully I can gey an appointment for tues because I have too many classes tomorrow :( anyway I have a complete loss of appetite, fatigue at times, constant head pressure and I'm just not as happy as I usually am, sometimes I want to sit and cry. My gas pains are gone and I am crampy every once in a while for only a few seconds... I am due for my period on April 4th,, could this just be pmsing signs? Or is it too early? And I never get it this badly... if I go to the doctor should I mention that I think I'm pregnant or give him my symptoms and see what he says? And if he doesn't say anything about then ill mention it... I don't know what to do... this is all just so weird for me, I've never felt like this... Like I am able to go out and do stuff, I am not completely sick, but yet I just do not feel rite... I am just sad... Also if I were almost 4 weeks pregnant would the signs be like this? They aren't unbearable but just annoying and I don't know what's up...

As I said before, you sound like you have the stomach flu, it is going around. Although since you did have sex, pregnancy is always a possibility.

When you go to the doctor you do need to mention that you think you may be pregnant, otherwise he will not look for it. He NEEDS to know that is why you are there.

I would just got to the doctor and be completey honest. Tell them your symptoms and ask for a pregancy test to be adminstred.

Will a pregnancy test cost me money extra money at the doctor? Or will it be part of the visit? Because I am going to have to lie to my parents about this whole thing... and tell her he said I am sick or whatever... like it won't show up on the insurance bill that they have me a pregnancy test will it? Because then I am screwed... I won't be able to get it.. telling my parents is just not even an option.

I don't know if it will show up on you insurance... but it will cost more beucase you are getting blood work done. I also think that you should let your parents know what you are feeling and what you expect. Keep me posted.

Pregnancy Tests more then likely will show up on the Insurance bills because the doctors usually do bill them.I work in a doctors office that's how I know.

I can't they would probably strangle me if they ever knew I had sex w. some dude I don't even give a about.. . im so scared to go to the doctor, I'm never having sex again till I'm married I swear to god... this is the worst experience EVER. OMG thank you so much. Rite now I am thinking if I am pregnant... id completely have an abortion and not even tell my parents. I know I am terrible but rite now I am like a complete nervous wreck. Do you have a community health clinic or birthchoice? They will give you a pregancny test for free, and also it will be kept confidential... it also will be a blood test.
About your parents knowing... you think that they will freak out, but after the shock.. if they are good parents and love you they will be there for you. You shoudn't have to go through this scare alone. I hope that you learned a valuable lesson from this experence that sex has consequences. If you need to talk or vent. I am here. I have been pregnant and I have a child... don't go through this alone. I know it can be a scary thing.

Ok, so those of you who have read my past posts:

I am feeling better today, I haven't had any headaches, my spirit are better I am a little happier. However I am still ovulating and still have some gas pains, but less than other days... I had some diarehha (cant spell) this afternoon which was weird, my stomach felt funny at that point... last night I woke up around 3am and felt shaky and nervous and faint and weird... this might be because I went to bed hungry... I don't know... I ate my first good meal today and feel more like myself... Although at night I tend to feel more stomach pain then in the day as far as crampiness goes... Could I still be pregnant? Because everyday you feel different right? Like some days are worse than others? Well ill have to see how I feel tomorrow. I am due for my period April 4th... could I getting pmsing signs this early for my period? Let me know... should I take another pregnancy test? And when? I am still very nervous and never want to have sex until I'm 35 haha. Oh geez. HeLp.

Hello again... for those of you who have been reading my previous posts:

I am feeling better today, not much of a headache, but still some gas pains and my breasts are sore sometimes also fell dizzy at night every once and a while... I am also ovulating quite a bit and I am due for my period April 4th... maybe pre period pains?? My nose and throat are also starting to act up and mono and colds are going around my campus... Last night I woke up at 3am and had the shakes and felt faint and got real nervous and scared I felt like throwing up... I finally fell back to sleep an hr later... so I don't know what's going on! Ill have to wait and see if I get my period again in April. Oh I pray I do! This is too much for me. I hope this is just all going to end up being a head cold... I don't know. Thank you all, you are the best :)

I don't think you are pregnant. I think you have the flu.
I would be concerned, though, with the ovulation thing. Normally, you ovulate for a day or 2. It sounds like you may have discharge? Also, if you have had unprotected sex with someone you don't really know or care about - you might want to get a STD test.

As far as the insurance thing, it probably would not show up as a "pregnancy test" but as lab work. That can be easily explained. And don't feel like an idiot at your dr.'s visit - believe me they see and hear EVERYTHING! You are not the first to go through this and sadly, you won't be the last.

IF you are pregnant (which I highly doubt), abortion seems like a quick fix to a "problem" - but let me say, from experience, it is not! You will have to live with that decision for the rest of your life. When you are ready to have a family, you may not be able to and you will be haunted by your decision of giving up your child. I have been in your shoes, I had an abortion at 19 and never told my parents until it was to late. They were more upset that I felt I couldn't come to them. And, when a certain day rolls around each year, I wonder what might have been. I killed my child almost 15 years ago and I have lived to regret it - EVERYDAY! So abortion is not the quick fix that so many think it is. And, if you don't want to be a parent yet, that is o.k. there a lots of couples out there that can not have kids naturally, You could have the power to make someone else's dream come true.

What are other symptoms of an STD? I mean I don't think he has a diseasee... but I mean I could be wrong.. lol...

There are many different STDs, some with symptoms and some asymptomatic (no symptoms).

You don't think he has a disease, but how well do you know him anyway?

Just get into the doc as soon as you can. But if it is an STD, it is nothing to fool around with. Many can be cured with a round of antibiotics.

Again, sounds like you have the flu.

I did a search on std symptoms - here is what I found:
Genital Herpes
Small red bumps, blisters, or open sores on the penis, vagina, or areas close by. Also, vaginal discharge in women. Fever, headache, and muscle aches. Pain when urinating. Itching, burning, or swollen glands in genital area. Pain in legs, buttocks, or genital area. Symptoms may go away and then come back. Some people may have no symptoms. There is no cure. Hepatitis B

I just copied over the two that have some of the same symptoms you have. Don't get freaked out. But, you can not always tell by just the way someone looks whether they have a std.
I hope you get to see your doctor soon. I know you said you were in school (college?) do they have a clinic you can go to? I am sure they see things like this all the time.

Hello... I had a friend in college who needed a pregnancy test and went to planned parenthood for a free test. Check your yellowpages and call them. They might even do a series STD tests. Hope all goes well for you!

Ohh geez... I actually feel a little better today... its kind of odd, I feel sick only at certain times... like this morning I felt like I was getting a cold, sneezing, some chest pains and headache and now I am fine, I just have more gas pains... its like everything time I freakin eat I get pains... its ridiculous. I drank a little bit today because I felt the need to stop worrying for a little bit and relax and this is how I did it... I didn't have much, but enough... when my friends are w. me I'm OK I feel better... lol, but when I am in class or sitting around this is all I think about. Lol... I think I will try and get to the doctor tomorrow if possible. Its so hard for me to get out I never have time during the day,, but I have to find out what is up w. me...

You should find other ways to relax. Esp. if you are pregnant. You don't want to take chances with your possible babies health, just because drinking is the way you relax. I hope that you get to the doctor soon, and find out what is going on. You can never be too careful when it comes to your health(or your babies, if you are pregnant) Try yoga, or getting some sort of exercise. That always helps me to relax, and its good for you too.

Thank you... I am going to the doctor today at 2:00. I do not know if they will give me a blood test because I didn't ask for one over the phone when I made the appointment... so I don't know? I just told them I had stomach pains and what not... we'll see what happensss.

Good luck, glad you are getting in to the doc so you can get some answers. You can always mention the test to them during your appointment, they might already want to order one. Just make sure you don't leave with out answers to your questions. Let us know how it goes.

OK so I went to this Indian doctor and she was so nicee. She suggested I am probably not pregnant but ran my urine and took blood. The urine came back negative. Worddd. So she asked if I used protection, I really don't knoww,, maybe?. lol.. so she suggested I have a clamydia and gonareeha (however you spell them) test. So annoying... because NOW it is all most likely showing up on my insurance... all the tests I had done... the pregnancy I can get out of though because the doctor said she basically has to give me one no matter what because I had abdomial pains so whateverrr, but the in gonareeah and clamydia one... jesus christ what the hell am I going to tell my mom about that... anyone have any good lies I can tell my parents... because I'm DEF. NOT telling them I thought I was pregnant and I've had sex and all... no way. So if you have any suggestions... I shjould have my test results back tomorrow or Friday. Like I said before, more than likely the only thing that will show on the insurance is lab work. I have had to have lots of different kinds of test taken and when I get my benefits explanation from insurance - it just says lab work. Even if I have had mammograms - they just leave it at x-rays. So, I don't think you need to worry about that. They never get real specific.
And, if it comes up with your parents - don't lie. Just be honest, because once you starting lying, you have to keep up with those lies and they have a tendency to spiral out of control.

The only thing is the lady at the doctors office told me they will probably list what tests I had... because my insurance is blue cross blue shield.. I guess all the insurances may be different.. I'm about to call my mom now and tell her the doctor made me take all these tests and I had no choice.. whatever.. lol I know my mom will start freaking out. OK well wish me luck :)

Does your mom still think you are a virgin? IF not, then it is the responsible thing to do - to make sure you are protected. You are an adult now, in college, she can't think that you haven't experimented. By doing these test, you are protecting yourself. Hopefully she can understand that.
BTW - I have the same insurance - maybe (?) what the dr. was referring to is listing the test to the insurance. But, when you/your parents get the benefits explanation in the mail from the insurance - it should just say labs. Maybe? Now, if the insurance doesn't cover it all and the dr. has to bill you - then the dr. bill will have what you had done listed.

If this should happen to you again - you might want to think about planned parenthood. They do these kinds of things and it is either free or extremely low cost. This way, it takes the stress of having to explain things to the parents out of the situation.

blood work = negative :) you were all right! Thank you alllll soooo much once again... the only problem now is that I still have pains in my stomach! The doctor told me no dairy, but I mean that's kind of hard since I am here at college and stuff... there is ike nothing to eat. And my schedule is so busy that I can never eat good meals... lol but as long as I'm not pregnant I'm good! The doctor is still running the STD tests and some other ones but I'm sure those should be OK...

Hello. My first suggestion is you have to stop drinking! Pregnant or not, it is NEVER a good situation when drinking results in "unclear memories".
Ok, now for an answer. (Just to let you know, I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with my third child, so I am somewhat experienced in the matter.)
First, the good news. If you had sex one week before your period, you were probably not ovulating, and therefore you are probably not pregnant, as your most fertile time is actually the middle week of your cycle (about two weeks before your period).
Now the bad news; just because you got your first period after sex, it doesn't mean you're not pregnant, especially if that period was lighter and/or shorter than usual. You can get pregnant outside that two-week "window" if you're very fertile. This pregnancy was a surprise for my husband and I. We had sex a week after my period - also a time that's low-chance for ovulation - and didn't think we needed a condom, yet, here we are with an unplanned pregnancy.
So, what to do? Unfortunately, there's not much you can do at this point. Pregnancy tests are not accurate until you're due for your next period. If you are even one day late, take a home test (they are over 99% accurate). If it's positive, make an appointment immediately to see your dr to have them confirm it. I have friends who took the pregnancy test too early, including a blood test, which came back negative even when they were actually pregnant, and all that does is give a false sense of security. So, as difficult as it is, you'll have to wait until your scheduled period to know for sure. At the same time, try not to get too worried about it, because stress could cause your period to come late, causing even more unnecessary worry.
One last comment; if it turns out that you ARE pregnant, and you've had one or two drinking binges before you realized it, try not to worry. When I was about 3.5 weeks pregnant with my first, I didn't know it and had a LOT to drink at a friends wedding. My daughter is now seven and she never had any adverse effects from it, even pre-birth and infancy. But if you are pregnant, you must stop drinking because the older the fetus gets, the more it will be effected by alcohol.
I hope this helps; keep a watchful eye, and use your body as your guide. Go by your period; if you get another one, you are not pregnant. If you are two weeks late for your next one, you probably are pregnant, even if the tests say you're not. (But, if you go two weeks past your period date and the tests still say you are not pregnant, see your dr because there may be something else wrong... )
