My heat pump died and I was not in a financial state to buy a new pump. I have been heating my small home w/ emergency heat strips until I can afford to put new pump in. This morning the heat is going down, can these strips be replaced at a reasonable cost?

Depends on your definition of "reasonabe". Strip heat packages run anywhere from about one hundred to several hundred dollars depending upon make, size, & difficulty of installation.
