I stated taking birth control 6 weeks after my delivery with was 12 days ago and I had unprotected sex, could I be pregnant or would the pill work after 12 of them?

No, they will have no real effect.
You you could be pregnant.

Normally you have to be on pills for at least 30 days, full cycle of pills before they have effect.
