I just bought a new house with in-wall heat pumps (Whalen model #VI-A-603-BO-H8) on every level . They are built into the walls adjoining the bedrooms. During the day the noise from the heat pumps is not so noticeable. However, when the units start up at night they kind of sputter and then hum loudly for a half-hour and wake everyone up ( goes through cycle about 3 times in the night). Is there any way to insulate the noise?
