View Full Version : How do I tell a friend that I just don't like them anymore?

I had been close friends with a girl for at least 4 years, and although I have not always agreed with the way she treated me or acted, I looked away from all of that because we had fun the majority of the time. We have many great memories, and I don't regret being friends with her, but to put it simply, I have changed and grown up and she hasn't. I find that we really don't have much in common.
In the past couple of years, I have become closer with some new and some old friends that understand me more and who I can enjoy time with the entire time. With this, I find it hard to ignore all the comments my problem friend makes that I don't agree with, her attitude is just kind of know-it-all and b****y. I used to be able to put it aside, but I just can't anymore.
Now, at lunch in school... and it is my last semester in high school... it is just me, her, and another girl I have been hanging out with a lot more these last couple of years. And it is TENSE. They have nothing in common, they have never liked each other. And I just don't want her to sit with us anymore. Lunch is supposed to be enjoyable and it is anything but. I don't know how to deal with this without being a jerk or a coward. HELP.
