I was putting wood into our wood stove on Thursday, I cleaned it seconds after it happened to keep the soot from getting deep into the spot, wrapped it with neosporin, gauze pad for the night. Friday it looked really red in and around the burn so I poured preoxide very liberally on the wound it foamed and hurt that an incredible amount, rinsed it and left it with no wrap until bedtime when I poured more peroxide on it again still incredible painful then put Bactrin salve on it and wrapped it with a gauze pad and wrap. This morning (Sunday 1/20/2013) I took the dressing off once again pour peroxide and put salve on it and it hurt more then when I originally burned it. The burn is on my left arm about an inch below the wrist joint it is an oval shap about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. I am avoiding emergency rooms because my last visit to an ER I brought home a terrible virus and my husband came down with it too. Is there anything I can do at home to keep it from getting worse and start healing?

How about visiting an urgent care or clinic? I have never heard of using peroxide on a burn.
