Hi - replacing my Moffat wall oven with a neighbours GE wall oven/convection oven.
My service has your traditional 4 copper wires - red, black, white and ground.
The Moffat had four - it was an easy match.
GE oven has FIVE - red, black, white, green and BLUE. I know what to do with all the others, got them ready in the junction box - but the schematics do not explain the blue.
I believe it is simply from the controls that turn on the fan of the convection. Usually you just attach the blue wire to a neutral point on the junction box. It is a wimpy looking wire too - can't see runnning 2000 watts on this!
Does attaching the blue wire to the box seem correct? Or should I just tape and marrette the thing? I do not want to use th convection oven option anyway - turns the meat hard.
GE HQ does not have the Installation manual archived anymore. The new GE Profile wall ovens do not have the blue wire on them, so their manuals did not help.
