I am 12 years old in 6 grade. One day at school my friends and I were talking about bras and they all said that they wear bras and they are 11 and I said I didn't wear padding. They said why? 6 grade is the time. I was embarrassed. I feel that I am ready so I asked my mom and she didn't say anything so I was disappointed.

The training bras hurt, shows through my shirts, and too tight. I wear a 32A so I want a padded bra but I don't know if I am ready. I wish I had an older sister for this.

PLEASE HELP!! I need advice. So am I a 12 year old in 6 grade old enough for padded bra?? Please help I appreciate this. THANK YOU.

No, you don't need a padded bra. A padded bra is supposed to make you look like you have bigger breasts than you really do. At 11, that is NOT what you want.

If the bra you wear is tight, you might need a larger size around your body or a larger cup size. Have your mom take you to a good department store so you can be measured, or she can probably do that too.

Padded bras are made for adult women that don't have a lot up top. You're still growing, you're only 12. Why are you trying to pretend that you have more than you do? It's perfectly normal for a 12 year old girl to only be an A cup. Heck, most 12 year old girls don't even need a training bra.

If mom said no, she has her reasons, and they're very good reasons. You're trying to grow up too soon. The only reason a girl would want to make her breasts look bigger than they are, is to attract attention, and that attention is not the kind a 12 year old should be seeking.

You'll thank mom one day. If the other girls bother you, just say "At least I'm not pretending to have something I don't really have".

I'm going to slightly disagree here. Girls develop differently. Some girls bud, others develop more uniformly. At a young age the odd shape of a developing breast can show through a light training bra and be embarrassing. So some light padding to disguise the shape of a budding breast may be called for.

I don't know if that is your case or not. But you need to sit privately with your mother and show her how you look. It may just be a matter of wearing looser clothing. Or you may need some padding.

There is no specific time, it's a matter of how YOU are developing not your friends. It could very well be that your younger friends are wearing padding, not to disguise their shapes but to enhance them. You way be a nicely shaped (for your age) 32A and the padding is not necessary.

Yes most girls that age don't even use bras, if they do, it is a training bra. If it is showing though, then you are either wearing it wrong or your shirts and dresses are too tight.
