I don't know who was in it, the show is either a suspense or horror, they were in a house and there were little gremlins or goblins in the basement, all I can remember is a woman in the show at the end of the movie either loses her balance or is grabbed and falls into the basement. Please anyone if you know anything about this movie

Sounds like "Don't be afraid of the dark" but that movie is not from the 70's, it was put out last year I believe. And the little "gremlins" look just like my dog so I did enjoy the movie. If this is the one that you are thinking of, Guillermo del Toro co-wrote this, and you are able to view his taste throughout the entire flick actually. Katie Holmes is the woman who "fell" into the basement.

The Katie Holmes movie is a remake. The original was done in 1973.

That movie scared the living crap out of me when I was a kid. It was the one movie I can say that had affected me for years. We had a basement that had the metal fireplace cleaning door in it like they had in the '73 film... I was terrified that they were coming out of there for me.

We have the same old type of coal furnace ( not in use) in our basement and I do recall thinking of it for several days after viewing the version that I wrote of, at least whenever I opened the basement door. I can't say that this version was all that terrifying, mostly because the creatures reminded far too much of my own dogs, but I am looking forward to seeing the older version! Nothing better than being scared out of ones wits, and the older movies always do a better job at that. Left more to your own imagination I believe.

Keep in mind, I was 7 when I saw the original. It was creepy but I don't know how well it holds up today.
