Ok, so my boyfriend and I have been together for over 2 years now (both I'm mid-20s) and have been threw a lot of ups and downs!! I decided to get him a promise ring to show him that ill be here no matter what. Now I'm just trying to figure out a way to give it to him? Nothing too sappy because I don't want him to think I'm purposing or something. Hoping for some fun ideas, something creative, something different?? Help me please!! And please don't try to give me that "women don't give men rings" or "promise rings are childish" because I already got it and I'm giving it no matter what, just need cool ideas for HOW??

I really don't have any ideas, other than those that are the norm. My husband proposed to me in a unique way. He started a fight. Yup, that's right. I was just starting college, he was doing temp work, so money was tight. He had to go pay his car insurance so I went along. My birthday was coming up.

While we were in the car, driving to pay his insurance, he said "I won't be able to get you anything for your birthday, I'm broke". Well, he had just bought a bunch of stuff for himself, so that made me a bit mad, especially because I had bought him a really nice gift for his birthday only a few months earlier. So I voiced my opinion, not so nicely.

After we argued for a bit, he said "Well I can't afford it because I bought this", and then put the ring box in my hand.

When I opened it, there was the engagement ring, and wedding band (it's interlocking so you couldn't get one without the other).

He sat there grinning from ear to ear. He wanted to start a fight so that I wouldn't suspect anything.

It worked. :)

We've been married for 17 years now, 18 in May.

I realize you're not proposing, but, same thing really.

It's hard to advise someone on this sort of thing. We don't know him, we don't know you. I think this is something you're going to have to figure out on your own.

Good luck. :)
