Hi their, I hope this helps you and your fears. It depends on what state you are in. I received sole custody of my daughter. No matter what your x says about you will not hurt you if it is not true. I live in New York state. Being that I was not married to the father of my child and me and the baby never lived with him, the judge sees this as me or (you in this case) as the sole provider. So the judge looks out for the best interest of the child. Which means, if the living situation of you and your children is working for both you and your children the court does not want to disturb it. He may get visitation but that's all. If you get sole custody he gets nothing. Beat him to the punch and start your case. Go to the court and file a potition against him for custody. That is what I did and I won. Good Luck. If you have any questions you can post it here and I will be glad to help you.

Well. I am a 13 yr old, and my dad said that he was going to get it so that I can't see my mom anymore. He said he was going to bring up her past and the fact that my older sister and brother were on drugs for a long time. They went to court and my mom was fine. The judge said that things in the past doesn't affect anything today, and that my dad was bringing up adams and tricias history, was ludacris because they don't live there and they are both recovered. You shoouldnt be worried because unless its super bad, like you beat your child, then you shouldn't worry. And, I bet you will be fine because you don't seem like the type of mother to make terrible mistakes, which your child should be taken from you.
GOOD LUCK! :p
