My husband served 15 years 8 months for aggravated assault in Houston TX. Released 11 months early due to overcrowding. Went to halfway house in El Paso. He left house after a month. His PO was aware of him and few others were doing same. Apparently, he had no understanding of parole policies. His parole ended August 12, 2012 We find out otherwise when he was arrested on Dec.5, 2012 for theft of what was a $230 Pressure washer which was enhanced to 1500.So he sits now in custody at Bexar county with a parole hold. Is there anything that can be done to get a bond set and also who determines how much to enà

No, you can not get a bond on a parole hold. If he is held on that, there was either a warant for leaving the half way house, or the theft was a violation.

I would say that he will go back to prison to do the last 11 months ( or 11 months minus what he did in half way house) plus any new time for the new theft.

Your best bet is for an attorney to represent him for the parole hearing violation, and hope the PO will testify that he was aware and allowed him to leave.

As for the new charges it will help if it is lowered to a misdemeanor in a plea deal.
