My map tiner switch is in off position should it be on ? And what does it do?

I got to tell you, hall, I'm curious about this. I have never heard of a map timer. Ive been in the field for many years now, and worked on more coleman units than I can remember. Can you post a pic of the switch, and any other components related to the timer? Im not just here to help, Im here to learn as well. I believe I may be able to learn a bit if you are willing to give more info.

All I can think of is that the map timer is the fresh air damper assembly? If so, you can just leave the switch off. Many time the damper becomes defective and the best bet is to just leave it off, other wise it will shut the furnace down.
