It's a kids movie. I remember watching it in the mid 90s or early 2000s on Nickelodeon I believe. All I can remember is an animatronic (or maybe a puppet) bird. It was big and I think may have been orange. There was an island or something and some kids involved. There may have been a magic carpet of some kind too. I'm probably getting some details wrong since I can't remember it that well. I'm pretty sure it was on Neflix at one point in the last couple of months and it may even still be on there but I can't think of the name of it.

This movie has always stuck with me because of the bird. It was the kids friend but the way it talked and the manner of the animatronics (or puppetry) made it look kind of creepy and untrustworthy. I remember being a kid and just waiting for the bird to betray them but it never did.
