I would like to know if there is a form and on which site that my husband and I can fill out to file with the county adding his name to the deed. We bought the house together and put it in my name only. We would now like to add his name. Is it necessary to go to a title company or attorney to do so? There is no paper to "file" you have to get a new deed written that will show the other person being added to the deed.

While a person who knows how to do it can do it, if you don't, you are risking messing up the deed to your property if you do it wrong.

So yes, if you have to ask the question how do you do it, you need to use a title company or real estate attorney
