Hi, I looked at couple of plumbing related threads and that gives me some confidence that you guys can set me on the right path (for example, the posts by speedball1)...

I have a portable dishwasher. Used it for 4 years with my old faucet, no problem. Got a new faucet recently, single-handle (the one that swivels around in a "U" shape for hot or cold) Faucet works w/o dishwasher. But leaks right through the bottom of the spout when dishwasher is hooked. (This one is Delta Classic Model # 400-SS-DST-A. I can post pictures of the faucet if this site allows for it). Unfortunately, the original, old faucet is gone. Today I got another faucet (a 3rd one) in the hope that it will work. It is Glacier Bay-808 394.

The old faucet, which is gone, also had a single handle but the handle that could be rotated left 90 degrees, and right 90 degrees - fully horizontally. How do we know which faucets can handle "backpressure" best when connected to a portable dishwasher?

Questions:
1) Will the Glacier Bay solve the spout leak issue?
2) Is the issue fixable with the existing faucet - yes or no? If yes, please tell me how. (I plan to get a plumber to do the work).

Thanks

Hi Mnh

The first faucet really should have worked and I would call Delta and ask them why it didn't work and see if they will warranty a replacement faucet for you as they really should if their faucet doesn't work here.

With that being said, single handle faucets have so many o-rings that the pressure may simply be too much for some brands. The two handle glacier bay should work fine, but I'd still talk to Delta tech. support and see why they make a faucet that won't work with the portable DW systems without stating it clearly on the box, you know?

Back to you...
