Hey folks, first time here...
I've got a troublesome Carrier 58GS100-GA gas furnace. The current thing that's bothering me is the time that it takes from "Heat On" from the thermostat, until "fan on, blowing heat". Currently, it's taking up to 3 minutes for the whole cycle of events.
That would be; (1.) thermostat sends the "Heat, please" signal, (2.) pilot fires up, (3.) burners open up and pilot lights them, and (4.) blower activates and blows heat.
The issue is the "2."-"3." section. It's taking about 1 1/2 minutes to 2 full minutes from pilot to burners going.
Does this seem like an awfully long time? And, if yes, where would you recommend I start looking to fix it?
(btw, I've replaced the Spark igniter/LockOut Control Box a couple of years ago)
Many thanks for any/all help

Your thermostat is et on AUTO rather than ON, the fan starts when the air in the chamber reaches a certain set temp. This allsounds normal to me.

Hey ballengerb1, thanks very much for your answer!
No, everythings o.k. with the time that it takes the fan to come on.
It's the time between "pilot light lights" and "burners light" (about 2 minutes) that concerns me.
I forgot to mention that this unit in in a rental property. And in my home Carrier (a newer unit), it's only a few seconds from "pilot light lights" and "burners light"

I doubt if its actually a pilot light. More likely a glowing ignitor. 2 minutes is on the long side but not much. If you are concerned tell the owner that HE has a furnace issue.
