I don't know many 11 year olds that need a bra. I do know many 11 years olds that want a bra. Why do your friends think you need a bra? Because they have training bras? Is that why?

Why is it so hard for you to ask your mom to get you a bra, which at 11 would amount to an undershirt that's shaped like a bra?

Well you can kind of see my nipples through my shirt.

Most children have that issue. That's not a reason to get a bra. That's a good reason to get an undershirt.

Unless your breasts are developed, which is doubtful at the age of 11, there's really no need for a bra. A bra is needed if your breasts are big enough that they jiggle when you walk or run, or play sports. A bra is needed if your breasts hurt because of no support. A bra is not needed because you have nipples and your shirts are too transparent.

But again, why not ask your mom? Why can't you ask her? If she says no, it's because she doesn't feel you need one, which you likely don't. If she says yes, you can get a bra shaped undershirt, like most of your 11 year old friends. I highly doubt any of them have a real bra, or need a real bra.

I completely understand your feelings and concern about the bra issue as I have a daughter your age as well. You should never feel embarrassed about asking your mom for something you need. If you don't feel comfortable with it, I'm sure your not big enough to worry too much so then ask your mom to get you some tank tops to wear under your shirt which will hide your nipples and help you feel more confident about yourself. Good luck sweetie.

Me and my mom are going to get our hair done tomorrow , and I've been needing a bra for a while. But I'm kind of scared to ask her to stop at a store and get my one. How do I ask her.

All my friend say I need a bra badly , they all were one. Do you think it's time for me to wear on all of my shirts you can see my nipples and they are very sensitive. But I'm very scared to ask her she will make fun of me please help.

"Mom, I think I need a bra". That's how you ask her.

It sounds like you have a great relationship with your mom. Most moms don't need to be asked when it comes to needing a bra. Most moms notice when their daughter needs one, and initiate the shopping trip for a bra. Is there a reason that your mom hasn't taken you shopping for a bra, since you need one so badly? She seems to be a pretty good mom.

I understand that most young girls want a bra, but wanting one and needing one, are two very different things. Like I said before, I don't know a single 11 year old child that needs a bra, and I have a daughter very close to you in age, she's 10.

I don't think you really need a bra, and if you're honest with yourself, I think you'll agree. This isn't a matter of need, it's a matter of want, of fitting in with your friends that all claim to have bras.

If that's the case, and I'm sure it is, then say "Mom, all my friends have undershirts shaped like bras, and I'm the only one that doesn't. Can you please get me an undershirt bra?"

Remember, need and want are two different things. If it's a matter of want, not need, then don't be too shocked if mom says no, until you really do need a bra.

Good luck.

As noted your reason is not a real reason, it is a reason to wear proper fitting and proper under clothing.

But some girls may start at this poin

You should be able to talk to mom about anything, a bra is one of the lessor talks you will need to have over the next few years

Let me be honest, I was 8 when I started puberty, was 5'4" in fifth grade, I was a sight to see and my body was developing at hyperspeed before everyone else. Even though a lot of people are saying that "you're 11, you don't need one". Don't worry....I understand.

If your chest honestly extends further than the height of your nipples (I'm being very serious.) then yes you ought to consider a bra or atleast a training one. Ask your mom, go ahead. I know it's awkward and she may be in denial because you're her baby and it aint your time yet, but if you were mine, I'd want you wearing a bra and being a kid than being a kid with developed boobies, no support, and predators having a good time. No.

It will be awkward, but ask. You're growing up and she wants to help you, but just one day on a good day "Hey mom? My friends say I need a bra, and I want to be safe and try a training one". Remember, be safe rather than be sorry!

If you read the post directly above yours, you'll see that she got one.

Hi I had the same problem at 10. I am 11 now and I wear a 34 A. I hit puberty in 3rd grade (I know, right?) and went through... changes. No period yet, thank GOD!! But you could truly need one. If you are scared to ask do what I did. Go to the mall and get one!! If you have a phone, you should text a friend about this. Hope this helps, girl to girl. Same age and stuff. :)
