Help!
I have a 97 ford ranger xlt 4.0 litre. I have been leaking antifreeze really bad. It seems to be coming from a small rubber hose that comes out of the firewall but goes to no where? This is leaking extremely bad when I put the defrost on in the truck. What is the problem? Does this little nub of a hose supposed to go somewhere? It comes out of little hose and drips right on to part of engine making it smoke.

Please help!
John

Sounds like the heater core needs replacing ($53). Had that happen to a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am I was fixing up to give to a local needy kid for Christmas 10 days ago.

That is probably the pan drain from the heater core. Some Rangers are easy to change, the core just drops down inside the passenger side of the cab, other require removing much of the dash. Hope yours is easy, mine was.
